HostCo Sustainability Strategy
Communication
Prioritise digital over print communication to minimise paper use. Encourage attendees to offset their carbon footprint. Provide a digital platform for all relevant information, including document submissions, applications and contracts.
Food and Beverage
Vegan / plant-based / vegetarian food options provided. All ingredients are sourced from local vendors. Support the USYD Green Caffeen reusable cup swap. Onsite caterers or vendors to limit water consumption.
Waste Management
Ensure any signage produced for the event can be re-used and reduce single-use & plastic bags. Ban the use of foil or latex balloons. Partner with USU Food Hub to reduce food waste and support University students who are struggling with finances or food insecurity.
